According to What’s on Netflix, BLACKPINK member Jennie has recorded a new solo single called “Someone to Hold” for Steps, Netflix’s animated Cinderella spin-off. The track is part of the film’s soundtrack, which arrives on November 20, 2026, the same day the movie lands on the streaming service.
Jennie said she is excited to take part in the project. In the report, she shared that she is so excited to join the Steps family, marking her first contribution to the film’s music.
Songwriter Justin Tranter, who worked on the track, described the single as pure joy to dance to. The description points to an upbeat pop sound that fits the lighter tone of the animated film.
The Steps trailer has already teased the single, giving fans an early look at the track before the film arrives. Netflix has positioned the music as part of the soundtrack reveal ahead of the release.
For BLACKPINK fans, the single is another chance to follow Jennie’s work beyond the group. Jennie debuted with BLACKPINK in 2016 under YG Entertainment and has released music as a solo artist alongside the group’s activities. A solo track tied to a major streaming release can reach viewers beyond the usual K-pop audience.
The report does not give a full track list, a runtime or a music video date for “Someone to Hold,” so those details may come out closer to November 20. Fans who want to follow the rollout can watch for the soundtrack announcement and the film’s promotional schedule in the coming weeks.
Steps is Netflix’s animated spin-off of the Cinderella story, and the soundtrack is set to be released alongside the film. Its pairing with a BLACKPINK member gives the project a strong pop anchor that is likely to draw attention from K-pop fans.
