According to The Music Universe, the Japan-based girl group XG is set to release a new digital single, “Depends,” on November 6. It is the group’s first new release since their debut full album, “The Core – 核,” which reached the Top 100 of the US Billboard 200 and No. 1 on Billboard Japan’s Hot Albums chart in January.
The announcement comes with changes behind the scenes. XG’s label, XGALX, has officially rebranded, and the report says the key staff who built the label are staying on. The group’s website and social accounts went dark on September 13, and the new single was announced shortly after XG’s first performance at Rock In Japan Festival 2026.
The new single has a tagline that the label is using to frame its next chapter: “Genuine Art Lives. Lives Create Culture.” The article does not describe the song’s sound or concept in detail, so fans will need to wait for the full release to hear how “Depends” fits into the group’s music.
XG is also in the middle of a major touring year. The XG World Tour: The Core includes 35 shows across Asia, Europe, Australia and North America. The tour ends with a four-show finale at Tokyo Dome and Kyocera Dome Osaka in February 2027, which gives fans a long run of live dates to look forward to.
The release also comes at a busy time for K-pop, with several groups putting out new music in early November. For XG fans, the single is a first look at what comes after a year that started with a strong album chart run and a full global tour schedule.
